Dinner series takes place in New York May 18-21
Williams Sonoma, a member of the Williams-Sonoma, Inc. (NYSE: WSM)
portfolio of brands, and Indie Chefs Week are proud to announce Indie
Chefs Week NYC 2017. From May 18 to 21, Indie Chefs Week NYC 2017 will
feature some of the best up-and-coming culinary talent along with
critically acclaimed industry veterans. Twenty-seven chefs from across
America will be cooking in a series of dinners over four nights in the
New York City area. This anti-food festival features real, thoughtful
dishes in multi-course dinners that meet the lofty standards set by
these independent chefs in their own restaurant kitchens.
Three preliminary dinners will be held at Rebelle NYC (218 Bowery, New
York, NY 10012) and for each, Indie Chefs Week will match up nine chefs
to cook one course of each meal for a small group of food appreciators.
The series culminates with a Grand Finale Dinner in the Munchies Test
Kitchen at Vice Media (49 S 2nd St, Brooklyn, NY 11249) on
the rooftop garden deck overlooking the Manhattan skyline. All
participating chefs will collaborate in pairs on a 14 course tasting
menu with all proceeds benefitting No Kid Hungry.
“As a part of our ongoing commitment to support the chef community,
Williams Sonoma is proud to present Indie Chefs Week New York,” said
Janet Hayes, President of Williams Sonoma. “We love to offer exclusive
culinary experiences for our customers and Indie Chefs is delivering an
exceptional lineup of chef talent this year. The fact that proceeds
benefit No Kid Hungry makes it unbelievably special to us, and everyone
involved.”
Thursday tickets range from $195 for a dining room seat to $225 for a
VIP seat inside the kitchen to witness the chef’s collaboration to
execute each dish thoughtfully and to the highest standards. Friday and
Saturday tickets start at $195 for a dining room seat, and range up to
$325 for a VIP counter seat overlooking the chef’s kitchen. Tickets for
the Grand Finale Dinner on Saturday range from $225 for a dining room or

ABOUT INDIE CHEFS WEEK
Indie Chefs Week launched in 2013 as a face-to-face meeting of the
country’s best, young, most talented, up-and-coming chefs to
collaborate, network, and learn from each other in an in-person setting
that wasn’t another cattle call food festival. Tired of the same
celebrity chefs publicized over and over, founder Ned Elliott noticed
the explosive growth of bootstrapped PR by a group of incredibly
talented and passionate chefs running small, thoughtful restaurants all
over the country. The invention of social media, particularly Twitter
and Instagram, gave a platform for chefs to show off their skills and
reach a wider audience hungry for their creations. However, the
limitations of social media meant that although the chefs were familiar
with each other, they couldn’t have a real, substantive dialog without
meeting in person. To foster the conversation and shine a light on these
hard working chefs, Indie Chefs Week was born. With the addition of
Grover Smith to help grow Indie Chefs Week, the event has expanded to
include four cities in 2017- Austin, New York, Los Angeles, and New
Orleans.
Other partner sponsors include: Tilit
Chef Goods, Jacobsen
Salt & Bee Local Honey, Chubo
Knives, Topochico,
and McCormick
for Chefs.
