Retailer Opens in Downtown Summerlin ® with Selection of Nevada Makers and Artisans
West
Elm announced today the opening of its third Nevada store in
Downtown Summerlin
®
, bringing
approximately 30 jobs to the master-planned community. The 11,032
square-foot retail location will open on Thursday, October 6 at 10 a.m.
As part of West Elm’s LOCAL
program, eight Nevada-based makers and designers will sell their
products with the store’s holiday assortment of modern furnishings and
décor. A complimentary design lab offering West Elm’s Style + Services
will support customers in their journey to express their personal style
at home. The store also includes Nevada-based artist Zac Bryson of
Wildwood Supply Co.’s custom-designed cash wrap that uses salvaged wood
geometrically arranged to evoke the area’s desert landscape.
“Summerlin by design is all about community, and we are thrilled to
enter a market where we can be a creative hub to neighbors and visitors
alike,” said West Elm president Jim Brett. “And as we continue to grow
in Nevada, we are committed to making a positive impact, from supporting
local artisans to expanding the job market.”
To celebrate the opening, West Elm partnered with Las Vegas-based artist Anna
See to design a limited edition tote bag that will be presented to
the first 300 shoppers with a $50 minimum purchase on opening day.
Additional store opening activities will include a sweepstakes* offering
local customers a chance to win a $2,000 gift card and an invitation to
a private pre-opening celebration on Wednesday, October 5 from 6 p.m. -
8 p.m. A portion of the pre-opening celebration proceeds will benefit
the Nevada
SPCA, a local nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter encouraging people
to be the best possible guardians for the animal companions in their
care.
“Downtown Summerlin is thrilled to welcome West Elm to the property,”
stated Andrew Ciarrocchi, senior general manager of Downtown Summerlin.
