Popular home furnishings retailer chooses Beverly Boulevard design corridor for first Los Angeles location

BROOKLYN, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Home furnishings retailer West Elm announced today that it will open a new retail store at 8366 Beverly Boulevard in Los Angeles on November 17th. The first West Elm location in Los Angeles will house the brand’s diverse mix of modern furniture, home décor and gifts, updated seasonally with new collections and artist collaborations. The two-level store will feature an eye-catching living wall, and new store design that mixes industrial-inspired display fixtures with natural building materials in an open floor plan. On opening day the complete West Elm tabletop collection, including holiday entertaining pieces, as well as all throws, will be 20% off.*

“After much waiting for the perfect spot, and an intense focus on designing a unique store for the location, we are thrilled to open on Beverly Boulevard just in time for the holidays,” said Jim Brett, president of West Elm. “We’re excited for West Elm to join the rich design community of Los Angeles.”

With the customer in mind, West Elm worked closely with acclaimed interiors and home furnishings designer Thomas O’Brien of Aero Studios to create an open, inviting and entertaining shopping experience at the Los Angeles location. At opening, the store will feature the brand’s Holiday collection, which includes furniture and accessories, unique gifts, decor and entertaining pieces, as well as a fun assortment of products that can be ordered monogrammed or personalized. Collaborations with Egg Press on holiday dinnerware, an exclusive knife collection from the Schmidt Brothers, and a 5-piece furniture collection designed by Paul Loebach add to the mix.

Heavily influenced by global design and culture, West Elm also offers handmade and one-of-a-kind discoveries from around the world. These unique designs are created and sourced through long-standing relationships with organizations that support the development of global craft and artisan skills including Aid to Artisans and Keith Recker’s Hand/Eye Magazine and Fund. The Holiday collection includes papier-mâché globe ornaments handmade in Haiti, colorful animal ornaments hand crafted in Vietnam, and pillows and throws hand stitched in India.

Many of West Elm’s furniture pieces are designed to suit small, urban spaces, and an ever-increasing number of the brand’s products are also marked “West Elm Green” – a label that proudly indicates responsibly produced, certified organic, recycled, rapidly renewable, or non-toxic products. Like other West Elm stores, the Los Angeles location is designed using green materials and includes low-energy lighting, low-VOC paints and reclaimed hardwood floors.

West Elm store associates are trained to help customers realize and create their personal style at home, and the Los Angles store includes an updated Design Lab on the second level, where customers and associates can collaborate on space planning and decorating projects. The store will house or have access to the brand’s complete assortment, making it possible for shoppers to bring home new looks immediately or arrange for quick-turnaround delivery. West Elm Los Angeles is located at 8366 Beverly Boulevard at the corner of Kings Road and is open Monday – Friday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
