SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pottery Barn Kids and PBteen announced today the launch of Gear Up to Give Back, a nationwide rewards program, where schools can register to earn up to four percent cash back from the purchase of backpacks, lunch bags and other school gear essentials. Once a school is enrolled, all gear purchases made through December 31, 2011 at Pottery Barn Kids and PBteen stores and websites are eligible. Schools are in need of additional financial support now more than ever. According to a recent study by the American Association of School Administrators, budget cuts in schools were noticeably more significant for the 2010-11 school year than in previous years. Parents, teachers and PTA members looking for additional funding for critical educational programs are encouraged to register their schools before the end of the school year in order to take full advantage of the program’s offering.
“I am proud to announce the launch of the Pottery Barn Kids and PBteen Gear Up to Give Back program,” said Janet Hayes, president of Pottery Barn Kids and PBteen. “Gear Up to Give Back is a unique way for us to support educational initiatives on a local level. As a parent, it makes me proud to see Pottery Barn Kids and PBteen contributing in such a meaningful way.”
How It Works:
All schools, K-12, can sign up with either Pottery Barn Kids, PBteen or both. The registration process is as follows:
1. Download and complete the application, available at www.potterybarnkids.com/gearuptogiveback or www.pbteen.com/gearuptogiveback.
2. Ask your school to provide proof of their 501(c)(3) or 509(a) tax exempt status.
3. Fax completed form and relevant tax information to (702) 804-9011.
4. Schools will receive a membership ID and password to be used at the time of purchase.
Once registered, schools, parents and PTA members are encouraged to distribute the assigned membership ID and password to friends and family. For a qualifying school to receive credit for each purchase, a customer will need to specify this membership ID and password at time of purchase.
Pottery Barn Kids and PBteen will combine gear sales purchased at both brands and donate:
- 4% back to schools with over $5,000 in Qualifying Net Sales
- 3% back to schools generating between $2,500 and $4,999 in Qualifying Net Sales
- 2% back to schools generating between $1,000 and $2,499 in Qualifying Net Sales
